07/09/2012 9:56 p.m. 911 outage in the Niwot Area

The Boulder County Sheriff's Communication Center received information from Century Link that the 911 system for reporting emergencies in the Niwot area is not currently working. The cause is being investigated and the problem appears to be with home / business phones lines and Century Link is working to correct the problem as fast as possible. If you have an emergency and your home / business phone line does not work, cell phones do appear to work in the outage area and can be used to call 911. If your cell phone does not work or you do not have a cell phone a Sheriff's Deputy is presently staffing the Niwot Sheriff sub- station located at 7960 Niwot Road. Boulder OEM will update information as it comes available.
